About Monique
Like a cold freshwater plunge followed by warm cup of tea, Monique Clare’s music is electrifying, cathartic and soothing all at once.
There’s a powerful synergy between her honest and compelling lyrics, spine-tingling vocals and dynamic, driving cello lines. Her intrepid multi-award winning career has ranged from teaching music in war-torn Afghanistan to playing cello with Eminem to a crowd of 80,000 people, touring her acclaimed album ‘Sight’ to festivals across Europe and leading hikers up mountainsides for sunrise concerts.
She's returning to the UK in 2026 having appeared previously at Cambridge Folk Festival and Celtic Connections to celebrate the release of her live album and to preview new, unreleased songs.
Featured on the ABC Radio National Music Show, her 2022 debut album ‘Sight’ took out contemporary album and song of the year at the Australian Folk Music Awards and Queensland Music Awards respectively. Her trailblazing style has earned a growing list of accolades: she won a Danny award for her 2024 performance at Celtic Connections in Scotland, was nominated for the 2023 National Live Music Awards, and was named the 2017 Young Artist of the Year by Folk Alliance Australia.
